Eyedazzler Rug

The complicated Eyedazzler rugwas first woven by the Dine' during the Transistion Period from approximately 1870 through 1910. Its design is derivative of the Hispanic saltillo serapes and features brightly colored patterns with a simple repeating geometric shape - chevron, diamond or serrate. The repeating motifs are frequently outlined with yarn of a contrasting color to add to the complexity of the design and to heighten visual impact.
